Nails may grow with a diagonal angle. A variety of causes can be behind this.
The cause is an ingrown toenail
First off, ingrown toenails. It’s normal for the nail to grow by covering the toe that it grows on, yet there are cases where the nail grows with a contortion to the left or right appear as though it is growing at an angle.
The cause is the length of the nail
The long length of a nail can cause the nail to bend naturally.
The cause is genetic
For some people, when the nail grows too long it’s genetically programmed to become bent. Similar to how hair can become curly at a certain length, whilst for others it doesn’t.
Internal problems inside
Finally, the condition could be caused by an internal problem of the body. A couple of possible reasons have been given here, but other causes also exist. It’s still strongly recommended to visit a specialist.
